Outdoor Abundant Life
(For developmentally disabled adults)
A week long experience at Michi-Lu-Ca for adults with developmental disabilities designed to develop faith, social skills, friendships, and relationship with God’s creation. Campers of all ages who are cognitively impaired but still ambulatory will live in an intentional camp community with their peers and our experienced counselors. The week will explore relationships with Christ through each other and through classic fun camp experiences including, camp songs, short hikes, shallow swimming, talent shows, Dances, camp Olympics and others. All experiences help campers develop a unique sense of group identity and belonging. Some scholarships are available.

Road Trip Adventures
Join us for a blended week of service and adventure this summer through Road Trip Adventures! Depart from Michigan and hit the road ready to grow in faith, help others, and experience white water rafting, biking, rock climbing, and more! This program is led by Stony Lake trained staff and provides a worry free experience that is all inclusive. Transportation, meals, activity fees, and more are all included in the registration fee!
June 20-25, 2009
Michigan to Chicago, IL
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Departure will occur on Saturday from a central location for the majority of registrants. Experiences will include rock climbing in the city, a bike trip along the Lakeshore Trail to Navy Pier, service projects connected to an ELCA congregation in the city, and other city attractions. Groups will return to the central location for pick up on Thursday.
June 27 - July 2, 2009
Michigan to Allentown, PA
(For youth who have completed grades 6-12)
Departure will occur on Saturday from a central location for the majority of registrants. Experiences will include rock climbing at Planet Rock, white water rafting on the Lehigh river, and service projects within the bilingual community of Allentown. Groups will return to the central location for pick up on Thursday.
July 11-16, 2009
Michigan to Columbus, OH/West Virgina
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Departure will occur on Saturday from a central location for the majority of registrants. Experiences will include rock climbing, white water rafting, and service projects in the area of Columbus, OH. Groups will return to the central location for pick up on Thursday.

Senior High Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Come and experience the week that youth from around the state can’t stop talking about! Yes, this is a week of traditional camp with special experiences built into the program. At Michi-Lu-Ca, camp out one night on the beach at an off site location, sleep under the stars along the shore of Lake Huron, and spend an entire day canoeing down the Au Sable River. At Stony Lake experience all your camp favorites including low ropes, high ropes, campfires, and a day trip to Michigan’s Adventure.

Jesus Code: 3208=1
An intentional camp experience designed
to facilitate racial reconciliation
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
The Jesus Code:3,208=1 will be comprised of a mix of African American, European American and other American youth. This camp experience will also address the barriers that lead towards discrimination and racism, and how we can change our thoughts and actions. The main purpose of the camp is to tear down the racial divides faced by future leaders of the Lutheran Church. Also, we’ll strive to give our youth the tools needed to dismantle racism within ourselves, our congregations and our communities.

Senior High Adventure Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
Come join us for a week of experiencing Christ through teamwork and self challenge. Test your limits as you embark into the wild, canoeing thirty one miles of the Au Sable River and backpacking 12 miles through the Huron National Forest on a section of the Michigan Shore to Shore trail. Then, return to Michi-Lu-Ca to experience the high ropes challenge course and to lead parts of the closing campfire. Some special supplies are required – campers will be provided a complete list of what to bring. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience God’s creation!

Senior High Sail Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
Avast! This here be the camp for you matey! Improve your leadership and teamwork skills while learning to sail! Each morning is spent in instruction learning to sail, and then applying those newly learned skills on beautiful Stony Lake. Sail campers will culminate their week long experience by navigating Stony Lake on a journey to the Stony Lake store on Thursday morning. Other activities include swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, Bible study, sleeping out at the “Back 40”, high ropes, evening programming, and campfires.

Senior High Kayak Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
Come learn new skills and learn about yourself as we explore West Michigan on kayak. Participants will learn basic kayak skills each morning and then apply those skills as you kayak on Stony Lake, kayak to Lake Michigan, kayak on Silver Lake, and kayak down the White River. Kayaks are provided for participants, but please let us know if you plan to bring your own. Other activities include swimming, canoeing, skillshops, Bible study, sleeping out at the “Back 40”, high ropes, evening programming, and campfires.

Senior High Bike Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
Bike enthusiasts wanted! Spend the week biking from Stony Lake Lutheran Camp to Michi-Lu-Ca Conference Center and Camp. Stay overnight in congregations throughout Michigan as you pedal your way to Michi-Lu-Ca. Riders must be able to ride approximately 50 miles a day, and have their own bike suitable for road conditions. A chase vehicle will be provided to haul gear and supplies. Campers will arrive at Michi-Lu-Ca in time to check-in for Bass Lake Festival with their church and receive a $35.00 discount off their Bass Lake fee.

Gamer's Week
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Enjoy the company of other campers as you experience new & old fantasy card games, board games, strategy games, and more! Each morning and afternoon is spent in gaming sessions where games will be introduced and played. Campers are encouraged to bring their favorite games, collection of cards, etc. The week will culminate with tournament play. This is an unplugged experience and will not include video games systems or handheld gaming devices. Campers will also experience the classic camp favorites like campfire, swimming, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and more!

Drama Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 9-12)
This camp experience is designed to strengthen the skills on any actor individually and as they work with a cast. Campers will work intensively to produce several small dramas for performance at Bass Lake. All campers will hold several rolls and learn how to develop their acting skills in characterization, voice, and movement. Additionally, one small skit will be
written through improvisation games, edited by the cast, and ultimately performed at the Bass Lake Festival. This camp will end on Friday August 7th at 8:00pm. Campers who also choose to register for Bass Lake with their Church will receive $35.00 off their Bass Lake fee.

Senior High Rock and Roll Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Rockstars wanted! No previous experience required! Rock and Roll Camp campers form bands that will gain the skills to write music, record a music video/CD, and get the chance to perform for hundreds of youth at the Bass Lake Festival. Mentors help to lead each band on their creative pursuit. Skill shops such as poetry and lyrics, music appreciation/listening, and “the music biz” work to expand the campers’ creative know-how. Talents of all kinds (from vocalists to sitar) are welcomed! This camp will end on Saturday, August 8th at 11:00am. Campers who also choose to register for Bass Lake with their Church will receive $35.00 off their Bass Lake fee.

Bass Lake Festival
(For youth who have completed grades 8-12)
Bass Lake is a Christian Music Festival for high school aged youth which provides an “outside the box,” grace-filled experience of the Christian faith! Through great music and unique learning opportunities (including workshops, demonstrations, fellowship, worship, and Bible studies) campers will share the Gospel with senior high youth from all backgrounds. Join us in the beautiful outdoor setting of Michi-Lu-Ca in a relaxed and community-centered atmosphere. This year’s speaker is Pastor Ernie Hinojosa.

Leadership Training School (LTS)
and Advanced Leadership Training School (ALTS)
LTS is a program for high school students who have leadership potential and would like to grow in their faith and leadership skills. The week is spent in a community of growing leaders while being trained in Peer Ministry.
ALTS is a program for high school students who have attended LTS or have already been trained in Peer Ministry. The week is spent in a community of growing leaders challenged to use their skills in their congregation/community.

Counselor in Training (CIT)
(For youth who have completed grades 11 or 12)
This program prepares high school seniors or recent graduates to be future camp counselors. During the training week, CIT participants will learn about the camp of their choice and the programs they offer. They will also explore the basics about caring for campers and serving as a future counselor. The second week of the experience will be co-ordinated with the camp director to serve as a junior counselor in a confirmation or elementary camp program. If you’ve thought to yourself “I want to come back and be a counselor,” this is a great place to start!

Junior High Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 6-8)
Campers will enjoy a morning Bible Study taught by a counselor, as well as low ropes challenges. The rest of the day will include a choice of swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, volleyball, nature walks, and a high-ropes challenge course. The evenings are spent in camp-wide games, singing, campfires and devotions. Two optional activities are also available; a beautiful and scenic canoe trip and or horseback riding session with a guide. Come and join in this life-changing experience!

Junior High Horse Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 6-8)
Saddle up and head to camp for a fun filled week of horseback riding! Each morning campers will head to the ranch where they learn to care for the horses and new riding techniques as well as ride the trails. Afternoons and evenings are spent back at camp enjoying waterfront activities, skillshops, sports, nature activities, low and high ropes challenges, worship and our famous campfires. Saddle up for a week filled with fun, faith, and friends!

Covenant Camp or Confirmation Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 6-8,
or as your congregation defines its confirmation program.)
Both camps offer junior high youth a time and place to explore faith issues in an intentional Christian community. Swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, low and high ropes challenges, and singing around the campfire are part of the week-long adventure. Covenant campers attend with their Episcopal church group and adult leader who leads their Bibles Study with a focus on their Baptismal Covenant. Confirmands attend with their ELCA church group and adult leader who leads their Bible Study with a focus on Confirmation. Individual registrations are accepted and we’ll partner your camper with an attending Church group.

Elementary Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 3-6)
Campers will learn about God and themselves by exploring the wonders of nature, trying new activities at camp (such as swimming, arts & crafts, nature walks), and participating in a fun Bible study time. For an additional fee, campers may go horseback riding at a local Ranch. Elementary campers sing around the campfire, learn about themselves, and worship daily. It will truly be an experience they’ll never forget!

Elementary Horse Camp
(For youth who have completed grades 3-6)
Saddle up and head to camp for a fun filled week of horseback riding! In addition to the regular activities of Elementary Camp, horse campers go daily to Rainbow Ranch to learn about horses and basic riding techniques. Classes at Rainbow Ranch include content sessions as well as riding sessions. Don’t forget the fun you’ll have at Stony Lake: swimming, arts & crafts, evening programming, worship, and campfires. Come and experience the wonders of God’s creation though a special time with his creatures!

Family Camp Weekend
Whether your family is looking for a relaxing getaway from everyday life or an action-packed adventure this 4th of July, Family Camp at Stony Lake Lutheran Camp has something for you! Stony Lake Lutheran Camp is nestled on the south side of beautiful Stony Lake, offering private access for swimming, sailing, canoeing, and fishing. Only 2 miles from Lake Michigan, 15 minutes from the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and 30 minutes from Michigan’s Adventure, Stony Lake Lutheran Camp boasts a myriad of experiences the whole family can enjoy.

Golf Retreat Weekend
Step away for a weekend this summer by enjoying beautiful Stony Lake Lutheran Camp! Bring your clubs and drive, chip, and putt your way through a weekend of fun, and fellowship. This retreat is open to all ages and genders who are ready for relaxation and faithful reflection as you swing your way to renewal on one of 15 courses within 15 miles of Stony Lake. Families are encouraged to attend and staffed day programs on camp will be available for children. (Greens fees are in addition to registration fees)
